Thrust Bearings for Rolling Mills and Heavy Industry

CHG manufactures large cylindrical, tapered and spherical roller thrust bearings, for heavy axial loads in rolling mills and industrial machinery. CHG focuses on large thrust bearings with bore diameters from 200 mm; exact size limits and load capability are confirmed by bearing type, drawing and operating conditions.

Why Choose CHG Thrust Bearings

Heavy Axial Load Capacity

Roller thrust bearing designs provide high axial capacity and rigidity for demanding positions such as rolling mill screw-down mechanisms, vertical shafts and heavy industrial transmissions.

Four Bearing Types for Different Duties

Cylindrical, tapered, spherical roller and ball thrust bearings cover different combinations of load, speed, rigidity, alignment and mounting requirements.

Designed for Demanding Conditions

Bearing designs can be reviewed for shock loads, vibration, contamination, high temperature, low speed, reversing operation, lubrication limitations and frequent load changes.

Selection & Engineering Support

CHG reviews load direction, minimum axial load, shaft and housing support, washer alignment, speed, lubrication, fits, clearance or preload and mating components before selection.

Application

Thrust Bearings Application

01

Rolling Mill Screw-down Mechanisms

For mechanical or hydraulic screw-down systems subjected to very high axial forces, shock loads and low-speed oscillating or reversing motion.

02

Vertical Roll & Shaft Arrangements

For vertical shafts and roll systems where the bearing supports the weight of rotating components and process-generated axial loads.

03

Coilers & Uncoilers

For reel and mandrel arrangements requiring axial positioning, rigidity and reliable operation under changing strip tension and reversing loads.

04

Rolling Mill Gearboxes & Pinion Stands

For selected shafts exposed to heavy axial forces generated by helical gearing, drive arrangements or equipment alignment.

05

Extruders & Heavy Presses

For screw shafts and press mechanisms where high axial capacity, rigidity and resistance to repeated load cycles are required.

06

Cranes, Hoists & Lifting Equipment

For large swiveling, lifting or vertical-drive positions where axial load direction, impact, speed and safety factors require application review.

07

Mining & Bulk Material Equipment

For crushers, mills and conveying systems with heavy thrust loads, vibration, contamination and limited maintenance access.

08

Pumps, Turbines & Vertical Motors

For vertical rotating equipment requiring axial location; the choice between ball, cylindrical and spherical thrust designs depends on speed, load and alignment.

09

Roll System Solutions

CHG can review thrust and radial bearing combinations, locating strategy, mating surfaces and lubrication as part of the complete roll-support system.

Customize

Custom Thrust Bearing Solutions

Custom by Bearing Number

Send the existing bearing number, manufacturer reference, suffix or series designation. CHG will review dimensions, internal design, load direction, accuracy, clearance or preload and interchangeability.

Custom by Drawing & Dimensions

Send a 2D/PDF drawing or ID, OD, height, washer dimensions, raceway profile, shoulder, chamfer, lubrication and mounting dimensions. CHG will evaluate structure and manufacturing feasibility.

Locating_Bearings

Custom by Position & Conditions

Send the machine type and bearing position together with axial/radial load, load direction, speed, temperature, lubrication, alignment, impact, duty cycle and required service life.

Custom Materials & Configuration

GCr15, GCr15SiMn and G20Cr2Ni4A can be reviewed according to size and duty. Accuracy, clearance/preload, cage design, washer arrangement, lubrication grooves/holes and mating surfaces can also be evaluated.

FAQs

Locating Bearings FAQs

What types of thrust bearings does CHG offer?

The website category includes Cylindrical Roller Thrust Bearings, Tapered Roller Thrust Bearings, Spherical Roller Thrust Bearings and Thrust Ball Bearings. Availability is confirmed by bearing number, dimensions and operating conditions.

Can thrust bearings carry radial loads?

Standard cylindrical roller thrust bearings and thrust ball bearings are intended for axial loads only. Spherical roller thrust bearings can carry simultaneous radial load when the required axial load is continuously applied. The complete arrangement should be reviewed before selection.

Can thrust bearings be supplied with special clearance or preload?

Depending on the structure, axial clearance, preload, accuracy and matching can be reviewed. Shaft/housing support, thermal conditions, mounting method and washer alignment must be considered together.

What size range is available?

CHG focuses on large thrust bearings with bore diameters from 200 mm. The exact upper limit depends on bearing type, internal design, material and duty; non-standard dimensions can be evaluated from drawings.

How do I choose between the four bearing types?

Selection depends on axial load, any radial load, speed, rigidity, alignment, load direction, available space, lubrication and mounting. Send the operating data and CHG will review the most suitable structure.

What information is needed for a quotation?

Please send the bearing number or ID / OD / height, bearing position, axial and radial loads, load direction, speed, temperature, lubrication, mounting arrangement, quantity and any available drawing.
