Spherical Rollers Overview
CHG spherical rollers feature a convex spherical profile for bearing designs such as spherical roller bearings that must accommodate heavy loads, shock loads and a degree of misalignment. Precise control of maximum diameter Dw, length Lw, outer profile radius R, spherical end radius SR, end geometry, geometrical accuracy and surface finish helps improve raceway contact, load distribution and operating stability. Custom production is available to drawing.

Design & Performance Features
The convex spherical profile helps accommodate misalignment and improve load distribution.
A large roller-to-raceway contact area supports heavy and shock-load applications.
Key geometry including Dw, Lw, R and SR can be precisely engineered for the bearing internal design.
Small flats, spherical-end recesses and opposite-end recesses are available in different configurations.
Geometry, surface roughness and chamfer dimensions can be controlled to drawing and inspection standards.
Selection & Quality-Control Notes
Specify Dw, Lw, R, SR, the small flat and recess dimensions at both ends.
Diameter and length tolerances, end-face runout, roundness, ovality and roughness should be selected according to load, speed, service life and bearing accuracy.
For custom spherical rollers, provide a complete drawing, material, heat treatment, inspection standard and order quantity.
Typical Applications
Spherical roller bearings and large heavy-duty bearings
Mining, crusher and engineering-machinery bearings
Metallurgy, rolling-mill and heavy-industrial-equipment bearings
Wind power, industrial gearboxes and vibrating-equipment bearings
Model & Specification Information
A spherical roller is commonly designated by Dw × Lw, together with R, SR, end dimensions, dimensional and geometrical accuracy, surface roughness and chamfer requirements.
