Full Complement Cylindrical Roller Bearings Overview
Full-complement cylindrical roller bearings are available as single-row NCF designs and double-row NNCF designs. Both designs use raceways filled with rollers and no cage, maximizing the number of rolling elements and radial load capacity.
NCF bearings provide a compact single-row locating solution, while NNCF bearings use two roller rows for higher radial capacity and rigidity. Open single- and double-row designs are used in general low-speed heavy-duty machinery; closed double-row designs are commonly used in crane sheaves.
Full-Complement Load Capacity
Without a cage occupying raceway space, the bearing accommodates more cylindrical rollers than a comparable caged design, providing increased radial load capacity for compact heavy-duty installations.
- Maximum roller complement
- High radial load capacity
- Compact load-carrying arrangement
- Suitable for heavy-load duty
Cageless Design, Speed and Lubrication
Because adjacent rollers guide and space one another, relative sliding occurs between roller surfaces. Friction and heat generation are therefore higher than in caged bearings, so NCF and NNCF bearings are primarily used at low speeds under heavy loads.
- Optimized for low-speed operation
- Designed for heavy radial loads
- Requires appropriate lubrication and thermal control

NCF and NNCF Bearing Structures
| Series | Configuration | Function |
|---|---|---|
| NCF | Inner ring with two flanges; outer ring with one flange and retaining ring | High radial load and limited one-direction axial location |
| NNCF | Double-row full-complement design with locating flange arrangement | Higher radial capacity and rigidity for heavy-duty support |
Performance Characteristics
NCF and NNCF bearings provide high static and dynamic radial load capacity in a compact envelope. Reliable operation depends on suitable operating clearance, adequate lubrication and control of speed and temperature because roller-to-roller contact increases friction.
Catalog bore range : 150-1000 mm
