Super Duplex Angular Contact Ball Bearings Overview
Super duplex angular contact ball bearings combine two preloaded angular-contact rows in one factory-integrated thin-section unit. Compared with a separately matched pair, the integrated construction improves alignment consistency, rotational accuracy and friction-torque stability while simplifying installation.
Four series cover compact-width and standard-width arrangements. AD and AA use back-to-back (DO) preload with an integral outer ring; AF and AB use face-to-face (DX) preload with an integral inner ring.
Preload Arrangement and Integral Ring
Back-to-back DO arrangements provide a wider effective load spread and high moment rigidity. Face-to-face DX arrangements place the contact lines inward and can better accommodate mounting misalignment. The integral ring controls the relationship between both rows and avoids pair-to-pair mounting offset.
- AD: DO preload with integral outer ring
- AF: DX preload with integral inner ring
- AA: standard-width DO design with integral outer ring
- AB: standard-width DX design with integral inner ring
Compact Width and Mounting Accuracy
AD and AF series reduce axial width compared with an equivalent paired single-row arrangement, except for the size-4 versions. AA and AB retain width and rolling-element diameter comparable to paired single-row bearings. All four designs arrive as integrated units with preload and internal geometry controlled at manufacture.
- Reduced part count and simplified assembly
- Factory-controlled preload and row alignment
- P4 precision for accurate rotary positioning

Structure and Series
| Series | Preload & Integrated Ring | Design Function |
|---|---|---|
| AD | DO; integral outer ring | Compact width; high moment rigidity |
| AF | DX; integral inner ring | Compact; same range as AD |
| AA | DO; integral outer ring | Standard paired-set width |
| AB | DX; integral inner ring | Same range as AA |
Performance Characteristics
The integrated two-row design delivers consistent preload, low and repeatable friction torque, high rotational accuracy and strong rigidity in a compact envelope. It also reduces sensitivity to installation mismatch between two independent bearings.
Ring, ball, cage and sealing materials can be selected according to corrosion resistance, temperature, speed and cleanliness requirements.
